Forgot to mention the other new and cute phrases....
I started teaching her the days of the week. So we did Monday, Tuesday,....got to Sunday and she said "See Jesus" and then "donuts". Gerald & I looked at each other and said....How does she know that? AND that after church there is coffee, juice and donuts?
She has started using full sentences. Instead of saying french fries she says "I want fench fries". And she says it slowly and perfectly articulating every word. Or I asked if she wanted water but went to fridge and there was a sippy with some milk in it. She took a sip of the milk and said "no mommy, I want water". Well yes ma'am!
And when you say "love you Maddie" she will NOW respond with "love you too daddy (or mommy or Abby)".
She occasionally she will repeat what you say but her Pediatrician and I think this is because we and her Therapists may, through therapy, been requiring her to repeat as a method of learning OR perhaps it is her way to learn (vocalizing something she hears versus what is typical....hear something and storing the info). Will keep an eye on this but it does seem to be diminishing a bit.
Anyway, this kid surprises us every day! And to think her prognosis was so dismal when we first found out about her condition. We are blessed to have her......our loveable little baby girl.
