Abby left early this morning for her Girl Scout Encampment Trip, and overnight camping trip near Independence, LA,  About 100+ Girls Scouts attend this annually and they girls should have fun.  As you can see Elfie tried to hitch a ride in Abby's luggage to go.  Unfortunately he is a boy elf and cannot go camping with a bunch of girls.  Hoping Abby behaves herself without Elfie watching over her.  :-)
This week my mom and I were able to help Maddie's class with various holiday crafts.  We brought over some Santa Claus peel and stick picture frames and I took their photos.  In my haste to get them completed I forgot to snap a picture at how cute they were.  We also worked with Jill, the Room Mom, helping with other crafts for their Xmas tree and door decorations.  We had a good time, they are all so excited when they can do ANYTHING besides school work.  Maddie and I also brought (almost homemade, Pillsbury cut/bake) peppermint sugar cookies which they enjoyed and some stated they were delicious and thanked us for bringing them.  Maddie has 26 very nice (and sometimes too helpful) classmates.  It's funny how when 1 needs a tissue everyone needs a tissue, same goes for drink of water, potty, helping, picking up, etc.  Mrs. Colleen is used to this and was able to get things under control.  Maddie was SO EXCITED, made me feel all warm & fuzzy inside and Granny enjoyed it as well, a real treat for her!

Maddie is standing up pointing, look everyone...It's my mom & my Granny!

I tried to recall the last time I helped with school craft/party, then I remembered.  How could I forget!!  Kindergarten class, Easter games, Mrs. Romo, un-medicated Abby, two un-named hyperactive boys & the others high on Easter candy.  OMG, by the end of the class I was raising my voice higher than Mrs. Romo trying to get the craziness under control (PS - Mrs. Romo can "project" her voice very well and is one tough teacher).  I was so shaken and exhausted that I have never gone back to help with craft or parties at school.  Until this year with Maddie, and it was a wonderfully different experience that I hope to do annually.  Much more relaxed and enjoyable.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
