The Graduate...

Another impressive year....I thought for sure 4th grade was going to be extremely difficult for Abby with the # of teachers she had, the level of personal responsibility, and the increase in extracurricular activities.  But as usual, Abby handled it well and never broke under the pressure.  I think I was more of a worry wart and stressed out more than she did.  At the end of the year we agreed that 4th grade really was not all that bad and it really flew by.  In the end she earned a 94.4 GPA, scored a 96 on the Stanford SAT Test (82 as school average), earned 1st honors in Reading, scored 4th on the Annual AL-LA-MS Math Contest, was a member of the Builder's Club, Swim Team, and made it on the JV Cheer Team.  I told Abby I am so proud of her and her accomplishments...her confidence to try out for things, ability to score high on tests without much studying, fantastic memory, her beauty, her close group of friends.  I was never like this when I was growing up so I am sort of enamored by these qualities and abilities.  I know going forward will be tough with all the changes she will begin experiencing with her friendships, balancing of extracurricular & school work load, additional responsibilities at home, and general maturity changes.   Hoping to keep building up her self esteem and level of confidence....so she will grow into a lovely, smart, and responsible young woman.  Mom loves you Abby and I am extremely proud of you!  XOXOXO
