As school is her main interaction time I am not there to see her interpersonal skills with peers. Maddie's therapists and teacher tells me how well she plays with others. At home she and Abby do not interact a lot mainly due to age difference.
Tonight I got to see the Erin & Maddie (who are only 2 months apart) share their crayons and paper, share their gummies, & they each shared their own toys and books with each other. They told each other about their booboo's...they gave each other kisses to "make it better". We played ring around the rosy and talked about colors and shapes. Then clean up time and each girl did their share. It was a quick hour and a 1/2 and it was so nice seeing Maddie playing so well, being so thoughtful and gentle, and laughing/giggling up a storm. Here is Erin & Maddie from 10/2010.
As far as Abby and Girl Scouts, next Friday is the troop's 1st sleepover. It will be inside the church's community center so no roughin' it. I signed Abby up without even asking her thinking she would like to go. She confided in me she really does not want to go as she has never really slept away from home, except at Poppie/KK's. I advised that she is really at the age when you start to do sleep overs and this would be good practice for the future GS camping trip late 2011. Looks like I might be a Tag a Long at the sleep over to help the troop leader/other mom. As long as we are indoors and have bathroom facilities, count me in. Plus I think it would help Abby feel less scared (and me too as I am nervous about it as well).
