Girl Scout Outing

Abby & I braved the cold weather and assisted the Northlake Nature Center in Mandeville with planting some mulberry and cypress seedlings. Two Daisy and another Brownie Troop joined in the fun. I could not feel my toes and fingertips it was so cold. But the girls potted a ton of seedlings and Ms. Ruth was very appreciative of all those that came out to work!

Abby was the faster planter thus was named the Planting Machine. :-) She was also the dirtiest kid.

When the planting duties were over we had a picnic lunch and then a nature walk where we found some interesting paw markings in the mud....the girls decided it was bear prints. With as noisy as the girls were I am sure the scared any wild animal off. We all had a nice time and look forward to another nature walk when it's warmer and the trail is dryer& greener.
